Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 24, 1985, at Champion Funeral Home in Osage for Candace Klemesrud, age 71, of Stacyville. Rev. John Gilbert of Osage officiated at the service with burial in the Osage Cemetery. Mrs. Klemesrud died on Wednesday, August 21, 1985, at the Stacyville Nursing Home.
Candace Olsen Klemesrud was born on September 3, 1913 in Mitchell County, Iowa, to Lawrence and Olga Krogstad Olsen. She was educated in the Osage and Waterloo schools. She moved to California in 1936 and was in the restaurant business there.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth Klemesrud in November 1976 and they moved to Osage in November 1984. She resided recently at the Stacyville Nursing Home.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth of Stacyville; one son, Richard Macklin of Santa Cruz, California; two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Murial) Hardy and Mrs. Louis (Phyllis) Glaza, both of Hesperia, Calif.; one brother, Leon Olsen of Waterloo, and four stepchildren.
