Tura (Beeson) Lybarger 1861-1964

TURA LYBARGER
Osage – Mrs. Tura Lybarger, 102, died Tuesday at Rockville Center, Long Island, New York. She had been in a nursing home there almost a year after fracturing her hip.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home. The Rev. Norman Brooks of the First Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be in Osage Cemetery.

Born at Liscomb, Iowa, May 9, 1861, she was the daughter of Samuel and Martha Beeson, pioneers. She and her husband Will, farmed in the Osage area from 1903 until his death in 1934. Since that time she had lived with her son, Bruce, on the farm and with her daughters.

While in Osage she was a member of the Bethany Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, a charter member of th the Mitchell County Farm Bureau, a private music instructor and a rural school teacher. She also belonged to the M. I. Club and the First Congregational Church here.

Surviving are her son, Bruce, Charles City; two daughters, Mr. C. R. Lovejoy, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; and Mrs. G. H. Smith, Rockville Center, New York; eight grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
