LYBARGER RITES HELD AT OSAGE
FATHER OF SEVERAL MUSICAL ARTISTS SUCCUMBS TO HEART DISEASE

Osage, July 23. – Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the local Congregational church for William I. Lybarger, 75, prominent farmer in the Burr Oak community east of town. The Rev. J. D. Kern of the Baptist church officiated in the absence of the Rev. Stiles Lessly from Osage and burial was in Osage.

Mr. Lybarger died Friday night following several weeks’ illness from a heart ailment. He brought his family here from Marshall County 30 years ago and bought a farm where he since resided.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Bruce, who is director of instrumental music organizations in Osage schools, a daughter, Mrs. Clifford Lovejoy of New York City, a musician who has been well known in lyceum work; a daughter, Mrs. Hale Smith of New York City, an outstanding solo violinist. Six grandchildren also survive.

A son, Glenn, cornetist, was drowned in a canoe accident at Iowa City some years ago when he was a dental student at the university. Mr. Lybarger was a member of the local Congregational church.
