Robert Ferdinand Feldt 1899-1985

Funeral services were held Thursday, Janaury 10, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar for Robert Feldt. Mr. Feldt died in Osage on January 7, 1985, at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 22 days.

Robert Ferdinand Feldt was born on March 16, 1899, at Rose Hill Farm in Newburg Township, the youngest child of Ferdinand and Ottilie Wilke Feldt. He attended country schools in the Carpenter area and was confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton.

He was united in marriage to Laura Schroeder in St. Ansgar, on September 12, 1922. They farmed the family homestead, Rose Hill Farm, moving to the house they were married in when they retired to St. Ansgar in 1954. Mr. feldt was a director of the Cedar National Bank for 50 years, a trustee of the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital for 24 years and also served on the Carpenter school board, the Carpenter Volunteer Fire board and was a Newburg Township Trustee. He was a lifelong member of the Mitchell County Farm Bureau. He served Immanuel Lutheran Church in various offices and was a Lutheran Laymen's League member.

He is survived by sons, Harold of St. Ansgar and Robert Jr. of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three sisters and one brother.

Burial was in the Newburg Cemetery, Carpenter. The Rev. Norman Betke officiated at services and Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
