Funeral services were held Monday, March 22 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church for Reverend David Ide, age 48, of rural Osage. The Reverend Charles Bunk of Toeterville officiated at the service. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell. Champion Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The Reverend Ide died suddenly Friday of a heart attack while at home.
He was a graduate of St. Ansgar High School and St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota. He graduated from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque in May 1965, and was a former past of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Titonka.
David Ide and Leone Wickwerth were united in marriage November 24, 1952 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in New Richland, Minnesota.
When he became involved in farming Reverend Ide semi-retired from the ministry. He served as supply pastor during the summertime in the surrounding area.
He was preceded in death by his parents Pastor Fred Ide and his mother Helene Graff Ide.
Survivors include his wife, Leone, of Osage; a daughter, Tami, at home; two sons, George, of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and Joel, at home; his mother, Helen Ide of Osage; two brothers, Herbert of Waterloo, and Conrad of Pittsburg, Kansas; and five sisters, Mrs. Louis (Ruth) Duesenberry, Rock Island, Illinois; Mrs. Walt (Esther) Gies, Waverly; Mrs. Willis (Margaret) Sandley, Clear Lake; Mrs. Orvel (Selma) Serfoss, Waverly, and Mrs. Guy (Barbara) Moore, Kenai, Alaska.
