Services held for
Mrs. BiedermanFuneral services were held Saturday, January 30, at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Osage for Mrs. C. E. Biederman, age 85, who passed away Wednesday, January 27, at the Faith Home. Reverend Jack Speer officiated at the service. Burial was in the Mitchell Cemetery at Mitchell. Champion and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Florence Adams Biederman was born on a farm in Cedar County, on December 31, 1896. Her parents were Harry Delvia Adams and Virginia Bacon Adams. She was raised in Johnson County near Solon. She graduated from high school in Iowa City and attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
Clarence E. Biederman of Grafton and Florence Adams were united in marriage August 5, 1919. They lived in Ames where Clarence was employed in research work and after a period of a year, they moved to a farm in Mitchell County. They lived there until their retirement to Osage in 1949.
Florence was a past member of the Grafton Legion Auxiliary, a member of the Sunshine Circle, World War I Veterans Auxiliary, Iowa Federation of Womens Clubs, Easatern Star Kensington, Methodist Church Womens Circle, D.A.R., and the Wampetuc Colony of New England Women.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence; a son Wilbur; a daughter, Marian (Mrs. George Spondnick), Bridgewater, Connecticut; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert; a brother, John Emery Adams; and a sister, Dorothy Johnson.
