Rites held for
Clarissa Brush

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage for Clarissa Brush, 74, who passed away Monday, January 25 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Services were conducted by Reverend Jack Speer. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery.

Clarissa Olene Odden was born February 16, 1907, in Osage. She was the daughter of Cora Hansen Odden and O. L. Odden. She attended Osage schools and after graduation toured with her aunts on the Chautauqua circuit through the eastern United States. Returning home to Osage, she went to work with her father, who was Mitchell County Treasurer.

In 1937, she was united in marriage to Birchard Brush and they maintained an office for 20 years until his retirement.

In 1960, she was appointed City Clerk of Osage and served in that capacity until her retirement in 1973.

Clarissa was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers, Loren and Jean. She is survived by her daughter, Clarissa Sasano of Sherman Oaks, California, her sister, Mrs. E. C. (Caroline) Tessman of Wheaton, Illinois, a stepson, Birchard M. Brush of Minneapolis, three grandchildren, Dede, Corey and Jeremy Sasano.
