Vicinity Is Dead

OSAGE, IOWA - The funeral of Mrs. Jane Barton Wright, 88, who came to this vicinity 65 years ago and had resided here throughout the intervening years, was conducted Saturday afternoon by Rev. Stiles Lessly, pastor of the Congregational Church.

She was born at Bradford, Pennsylvania on November 1, 1844, and came to Mitchell County, locating on what is now called the old Hitchcock farm on January 1. 1867. She taught school prior to her marriage in 1875 to John Wright.

Surviving are a daughter, Alta, and a sister, Mrs. Satira Conner, near Rudd.
