MASON CITY, IOWA — Ella Lena Weber, 97, of Mason City, died, Tuesday (July 31, 2007) at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.
A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave., Mason City, with Father Jon M. Seda officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in New Haven. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Ella L. Weber Memorial Fund.
Ella Lena Weber was born on Jan. 2, 1910, in Gratiot, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert and Elisa (Gutzmer) Schultz. Ella attended Rockford Country Schools.
On Dec. 2, 1934, she was united in marriage to William J. Weber at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Haven, Iowa. Ella was a dedicated housewife and mother, always putting her family first. In 1957 she began cleaning houses and then worked at numerous restaurants as a cook.
Ella enjoyed bingo, crocheting, fishing, traveling, going to the casino and especially spending time with her family. Ella was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the Women of the Moose.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Bonnie) Weber, of Long Beach, Calif., Jean (Ray) Friend, of Glendora, Calif., Dorothy Sullivan, of Mason City, Margaret Linderman, of Mason City, Helen (Richard) Schmidt, of Osage, Jake (Deb) Weber, of Clear Lake, John (Fern) Weber, of Osage, LaDonna (Donald) Parker, of Charles City; her brother, Roger Edgington, of Arizona; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; three sons: Robert, Joe and Ralph; one daughter, Marie; two brothers and three sisters.
