John J. Theobald 1889-1947

JOHN THEOBALD

John J. Theobald, 58, of 716 Milwaukee Street, Kiel, passed away at his home last night. He retired in good health but was found dead in bed by his wife at 3:45 a.m. today.

He was born at Stacyville, Iowa, on July 23, 1889, the son of Joseph and Anna Blonigan Theobald. He came to Wisconsin about 37 years ago and on October 7, 1913, was married to Miss Elizabeth Schoenborn at Marytown. The couple resided in Town New Holstein until the fall of 1922 when they moved to Kiel.

At Kiel the deceased was employed by the A.A. Laun Furniture Company for 10 years and for the past 15 years had served as a foreman at the Kiel Mill Works. He was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic church.

The survivors are: his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Helmuth (Marie) Lechler of Kiel, Mrs. Norbert (Helen) Janty of Elkhart Lake and Mrs. Robert (Lydia) Bunge of Kiel; two grandsons; his step-mother, Mrs. Anna Miller of Stacyville, Iowa; a half-brother, Peter Theobald, and a half-sister, Mrs. Joseph Mayer of Osage, Iowa.
