BORN IN STACYVILLE, IOWA

EUREKA, KANSAS - Ralph Edward Brandt, 72, of Eureka, Kansas, and formerly of Osage, Iowa, died on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, Kan.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 20, at the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Floyd, with Pastor Paul Phillips officiating. Cremation has been effected.

He was born on December 18, 1938, in Stacyville, Mitchell county, Iowa, the son of Edward and Carmen (Kindschuh) Brandt. He was raised in Austin, Minnesota, and Osage, Iowa, where he attended school. He worked at Oliver Tractor as a mechanic before becoming a trucker. He worked for several different trucking firms before his retirement in 2000. He moved to Eureka in 2007.
Ralph was a member of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church in Eureka.

He is survived by four children, Colleen Brandt (Tom) of Forest City, Iowa; Toni Hanson (Duane) of Osage, Iowa; Shawna Brandt (Brian) of Northwood, Iowa; and Jason Brandt (Tasha) of Eureka, Kan.; nine grandchildren: Zack Brandt, Courtney Foell, Samantha Hanson, Jesse Lowder, Krystal Brandt, Jase Brandt, Kassi Brandt, Reis Brandt and Rayna Brandt; one great-grandchild, Noah Brandt; one step-great-grandchild, Aiden; and one sister, Marcia Smith of Osage.
