RICEVILLE - John Kirchhoff, 74, of Riceville, died Tuesday (Jan. 16, 2001) at the Riceville Community Rest Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at St. Paul's Maple Leaf Lutheran Church, rural Elma, with the Rev. Myrwood Bagne officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Riceville.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville.

John Dietrich Kirchhoff

July 15, 1926 -- January 16, 2001

John Dietrich Kirchhoff, 74, of Riceville, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2001, at the Riceville Community rest Home.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 19, 2001, at St. Paul's Maple Leaf Lutheran Church at Elma, Iowa, with Rev. Bagne officiating. Burial was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in rural Riceville. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville handled the arrangements.

John was born on July 15, 1926 in Rockwell, Iowa, the son of Conrad and Kate Campen Kirchoff. He was united in marriage to Aileen Williams on January 18, 1954 in Austin, Minnesota. John served in the Marines during World War II. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Aileen of Riceville; one son, Marlen Kirchhoff of Oronoco, Minnesota; and one daughter, Lori Ellingson and her husband Sheryl II of Osage, Iowa; and six grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Clarence and his wife Arlene of Rockwell, Iowa; and three sisters: Anna Kirchhoff of Sheffield, Iowa; Gretchen Moele of Sheffield, Iowa; and Christine Foell of Rockwell, Iowa.

Preceding him in death are his parents and two sisters, Gertrude Sampson and Jennie Henderson.
