SELMA G. BEYER

NORTHWOOD - Selma G. Beyer, 93, of Northwood, died Monday (Jan. 15, 2001) at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Hatland officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. in Mason City, and one hour before services on Thursday at the Church.

Memorials may be made to the Selma G. Beyer Memorial Fund.

Selma was born May 7, 1907, near Carpenter, the daughter of Ole L. and Mary (Knutson) Anderson. She graduated from Carpenter High School and Hamilton Business College.

She moved to Mason City in 1926, and married Glenn A. Beyer on June 16, 1937, in Mason City.

Selma worked in the dietary department at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital for a short time.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, church circle and enjoyed needlework and quilting.

Selma is survived by two sons, Ronald Beyer and his wife, Mildred "Millie" of Fertile, and Alan Beyer and his wife, Karen, of Green Bay, Wis.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Valetta Anderson, of Northwood, and Helen Christensen, of Mason City; and several nieces and nephews.

Selma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and one sister.
