Olga Nelson, age 87, of Decorah, Iowa, formerly of Osage, Iowa, died June 2, 1987 at a Decorah nursing home. She was a former Clermont, Iowa resident. Funeral services were held on Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Osage, Iowa with the Rev. Joseph Nesheim and the Rev. Dennis Hanson officiating. Burial was in the Osage, Iowa Cemetery.
Olga was born October 14, 1899 in Osage, Iowa to Nels/Nils and Anna (Horgen) Anderson who lived in Clermont, Iowa before moving to Floyd County then Mitchell County, Iowa.
Preceding her in death were her former husbands (unknown first name) Rucker, Glen Cedric Godfrey*, (Unknown first name Turner); a daughter Aldene (Rucker) Bower, a granddaughter, Sandra Kay Bower; and 9 brothers and sisters: Albert Anderson, Mrs. Leonard (Martha) Turnmire, Henry Anderson, Oscar Anderson, Gilbert Anderson, Alma Virchow Clark**, Lester Anderson, Nora Telvena Nelson ***, and Bertina Anderson ****.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Noble Nelson of Decorah, Iowa who she married on January 1, 1973; one daughter, Mrs. James (Glenna) Lence of St. Paul Park, Minnesota; 3 sons, Leland Rucker of Sacramento, California, Kenneth Rucker of Owensboro, Kentucky, and George Godfrey of Marshalltown, Iowa; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

NOTES:
* Glen Cedric Godfrey was born in 1890. He married Olga Anderson Rucker in 1928. Glen died January 11, 1945.
** Olga's sister, Alma Anderson was first married to Oscar Richard Virchow on September 30, 1918. He was born in 1896 and died in 1951. She was then married to a Weaver Clark.
*** Olga's sister, Nora Telvena Anderson was born January 20, 1903. She married Arthur Noble Nelson on January 20, 1921. Nora died in 1969 and then Olga married Arthur Nelson. Nora and Arthur are on the Fayette County, Iowa obituary board.
**** It is not known if Bertina was married. She was probably deceased before 1931. There may have been another brother who was deceased also but his name is unknown.
NOTE: Family researchers will want to look at the Fayette County, Iowa website for additional information on the Nelson family.
