Osage DiesOSAGE, IOWA — Charles C. Nicol, 78, charter member of the Mitchell county Farm Bureau and lifelong farmer of the county, died at his home 9 miles northwest of Osage Monday at 6:30 p. m. He had lived there all his life and had been ill the past year.
Mr. Nicol was born Feb. 5, 1872, to W. R. and Josephine (Fish) Nicol and taught school in the county in his young manhood. He was married in 1900 to Grace Merle Kildee of Osage. She died in 1911.
In 1915 he was married to Mariba Records of St. Paul. She survives with 3 sons, Everest on the home farm, Stanley of Des Moines and Robert of Iowa City, and a sister; Mrs. J. H. McKain of Copperopolis, California.
Mr. Nicol was treasurer of the Co-Op Creamery of Mitchell county, vice president or the Co-Op Oil company of Mitchell county, president of the school board of his district and he served on the school board for many years.
Funeral services were pending.
