Funeral services for James Jensen, 79, who died Sunday, June 2, 1963, were held Sunday, June 5 at the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar with the Rev. Don Comnick officiating.
James Jensen was born on May 27, 1884 in St. Ansgar, the son of Gertrude and Christian Jensen. He was baptized and confirmed in the First Lutheran Church by the Rev. Olsen. He attended the public school and the Seminary in St. Ansgar. On February 4, 1916 he was united in marriage to Clara Priem and this union was blessed with one daughter and three sons. Mr. Jensen, a masonry contractor, worked in this area for forty-eight years, retiring ten years ago because of poor health.
Mr. Jensen died at his home at the age of 79 years and five days. He is survived by his wife, Clara; one son, Wayne of Cedar Falls; two grandsons and one sister, (Verna) Mrs. Bernard Mooney of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and two sons.
Burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery with Rev. Comnick in charge of committal services.
