BURIAL IN OSAGE CEMETERY

JOANN E. COTTER

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - Joann E. Cotter, 57, of Hempstead, and formerly of Wantagh, N.Y., died Friday (Oct. 27, 2000) at the Island Medical Center in Hempstead, N.Y., following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with the Rev. Philip Recker of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Joann was born June 26, 1943, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of William and Josephine (Jahoda) Nestel. She grew up in Huntington, N.Y., and graduated from Catholic High School.

Joann married Nicholas J. Cotter in 1973. They lived in Wantagh; she was a homemaker. Nicholas died on February 13, 2000, in Osage. Joann had been a resident of Mayfair Care Center in Hempstead since 1992.

She is survived by one son, Anthony Cotter of Hicksville, N.Y., and formerly of Osage; three brothers-in-law, Ed Cotter of Inwood, N.Y., Otis Cotter Jr. of Osage and Bill Cotter of Osage.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Michael Nestal.
