ROCKFORD, IOWA - Jess T. Stickney, 65, Rockford, died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Fullerton Schumburg Funeral Home, 302 West Main Avenue, Rockford.

JESS T. STICKNEY
ROCKFORD, IOWA - Jess T. Stickney, 65, of Rockford, died Saturday (March 17, 2001) at the Mercy Health Center-North Iowa in Mason City.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Fullerton Schumburg Funeral Home, 302 West Main in Rockford, with the Rev. Rick Magstadt of Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Osage, officiating. Interment will follow in the Osage Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today at the Fullerton Schumburg Funeral Home in Rockford. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to direct memorials to the Jess Stickney Memorial Fund.
Jess was born on May 20, 1935 in Mason City the son of Jess T. and Louise (Abbate) Stickney Sr. He graduated from Nora Springs High School in 1953. Jess worked for Armour for 31 years as an electrician. He later opened his own used car sales business known as J & J Auto Sales in Rockford.
Jess moved to Rockford in 1981 and on May 30, 1986 he was united in marriage to Virginia Hall.
Jess was an avid golfer and a car fanatic who was always up for a good joke. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and visit with his friends. One cannot forget about his faithful pet dog Semone.
Those thankful for having shared in Jess' life include his wife, Virginia, of Rockford, 11 children, Patricia Grinder and her husband, Jim, of Sugar Creek, Ga., Sandi Boyd, of Mason City, Lisa Tumilson and her husband, Kevin, of Nora Springs, Rockzann Marshall and her husband, Steve, of Burlington, Jennifer Stickney, of Burlington, Michael Stickney, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Gerald Stickney, of Chicago, Ill., Jeff Wells of Columbia, Mo., Jay Wells, of Marengo, James Wells, of Boone, and John Wells, of Des Moines; four sisters, Clara Ingalls and her husband, Walt, of Supply, N.C., Dixie Cain and her husband, Charles, of Tampa, Fla., Sharon Bonjour and her husband, Walt, of Mason City, and Dianna Orluske and her husband, Paul, of Nora Springs; one brother, Jerry Stickney and his wife, Bonnie, of Nora Springs; 13 grandchildren, Nicole, James, Troy, Andrew, Coty, Levi, Tyler, Alisa, Ryan, Scott, Chloe, Sam, and Kenna; two great-grandchildren, Matthew, and Adina; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stickney was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Cheryl Louise Stickney, and one sister, Darlene Shaw.
