Woman Dies
at HospitalLITTLE CEDAR, IOWA — Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Benson, 78, will be held at the Methodist Church Saturday at 2 p.m., the Rev. R. G. Oswald officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
Mrs. Benson died Wednesday at a Mason City Hospital soon after she had been taken there for x-ray examination.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Willis Barenz, Little Cedar; Mrs. Vivian Doudna, Osage; Mrs. Viggo Peterson and Mrs. Adolph Hawkins, of LeRoy, Minn.
Mrs. Benson was born at Malmo, Sweden, September 22, 1874, and came to the United States when she was 16 years old, making her home with a cousin, Mrs. Joseph Johnson, near Osage. She was married to Fred Benson on January 14, 1890, and they lived on a farm near Little Cedar until their retirement several years ago when they moved to town. Mr. Benson died July 10, 1952.
