Rites Held at Little
Cedar for Benson, 28LITTLE CEDAR, IOWA — Fredrick Benson 28, died of septic poisoning Saturday afternoon. He had been ill one week with septic, sore throat and pneumonia.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Benson, living one-fourth mile west of town. Hs is a graduate of the local high school and has spent his entire life in this community.
Besides his parents, he leaves four sisters: Claribel, at home; Mrs. Vigo Peterson of LeRoy, Minnesota; Mrs. Vivian Doudna of Osage; and Mrs. Willis Barenz of Little Cedar; two nieces and three nephews, and a host of friends.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church, the Rev. Mr. Tiffany officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Township Cemetery.

LITTLE CEDAR MAN,
DIED ON SATURDAYFrederick Benson, 28-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Benson, living just west of little Cedar, passed away at the parental home on Saturday afternoon following an illness of a week. He suffered from septic sore throat and the poison spread throughout his body; then a pneumonia complication developed which he was unable to overcome.
His death is a great shock to family and friends and the Press-News is sorry indeed to record the passing of this fine young man.
Frederick was born on the Benson farm, and spent his entire life there. Since completing his education he had been engaged with his father in operating the home farm.
Besides his parents, he is survived by four sisters: Mrs. Willis Barenz; Little Cedar, Mrs. Vivian Doudna, Osage; Mrs. Viggo Peterson, LeRoy; and Claribel at the parental home. Another sister, Dorothy, passed away at the age of 12, about 14 years ago.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, at the home at 1:30 and at the Methodist church at 3 o'clock, in charge of the rev. Tiffany, and interment was made in the Little Cedar Cemetery.
