GERALDINE V. WRIGHT

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Geraldine V. Wright, 99, died Saturday, August 7, 1999, at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 9, at St. Ansgar United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ted Stowers officiating. Interment will be in the Howardville Cemetery, Floyd County.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Fellowship Hall of St. Ansgar United Methodist Church, 510 W. Fourth St., St. Ansgar.

Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School St., St. Ansgar, is in charge of arrangements.

Geraldine was born on November 7, 1899, at Clinton, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Edward and Cora Estelle (King) Samuels. She was a high school graduate of Clinton, Illinois, in 1919.

She was united in marriage to John Wright September 20, 1920, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. After their marriage they lived in Osage a short time and then moved to Farley. In 1925 the family moved to Orchard, where they resided 17 years before moving to St. Ansgar. She provided a home of love and friendship to her family and many friends.

Geraldine was a charter member at the Orchard American Legion and continued her membership in St. Ansgar for a total of 74 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Ansgar and active in the United Methodist Women's Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister.

Geraldine is survived by her children, Geraldine Piper of St. Ansgar, Dorothy Neeley of State Center, Jack Wright of Pittsburg, Calif., and Brenda Currier and her husband, Owen, of Mason City; eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
