STACYVILLE, IOWA - Raymond F. Smith, 79, of Stacyville, died Tuesday (Aug. 3, 1999) at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, with the Rev. Joseph Schneider officiating. Burial will be in the Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Visitation Church Hall, where there will be a rosary at 3 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Raymond F. Smith was born on March 15, 1920, in rural Stacyville, Iowa, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Krebsbach) Smith. He married Marjorie Blake on November 7, 1945. He dedicated his life to his family and farming. He enjoyed visiting the Amish and going to sales.

He is survived by his children, Kathy and her husband, Alan Sonne, of Charles City, Kenny Smith of Mason City, Dale Smith and his wife, Mary, of Decorah, Joyce and her husband, Vance Krebsbach, of Plover, Wis., Dennis Smith and his wife, Carol, of Stevensville, Mont., Sherry and her husband, Todd Brandt, of Byron, Minn., Roger Smith of Stacyville, Mike Smith and his wife, Julie, of St. Ansgar, Joe Smith and his wife, Karla, of Stacyville, Glen Smith of Mason City, Donna and her husband, Larry Adams, of Plover, Wis., and Paul Smith and his wife, Lesa, of Stacyville; 20 grandchildren; four brothers, Leo Smith of Stacyville, Benny Smith of Stacyville, and Gilbert Smith of Stacyville, and Gerwin Smith of Mitchell; and one sister, Margaret Smith of Stacyville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie; sister, Martha Jax; and two brothers, Nick and Greg Smith.
