CLEAR LAKE, IOWA - Mrs. Yvonne Scott, 71, of Snellville, Georgia, formerly of Clear Lake, Iowa, died Monday, August 9, 1999, in Snellville, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake. Interment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 12 p.m. Saturday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel.
Yvonne was born March 19, 1928, in Mitchell County, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Grace (Naber) Epple. She received her education in Mitchell County.
Yvonne married Willard A. Scott on Nov. 28, 1947, in Austin, Minn. They farmed in the Northwood area and also north of Mason City. They moved to Clear Lake in 1968. She opened Scott's Upholstery Shop and operated it until moving to Snellville in 1998 to live by her daughter.
Yvonne was born again in 1953. She loved to cook and did some catering. She was associated with Christians Gathered to the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ in Mason City.
Yvonne is survived by her husband, Willard A. Scott, of Snellville, Ga.; one daughter, Lorraine Simmer, of Snellville, Ga.; three grandchildren, Derek Simmer and his wife, Angele, of Norfolk Naval Base, Va., Sean and Christopher Simmer, both of Snellville, Ga.; one great-grandchild, Jordyn Simmer; two brothers, Wayne Epple and his wife, Lois, of Grants Pass, Ore., and Orrie Epple and his wife, Judith, of Aredale, Iowa; five sisters, Jene Scott, of Osage, Kathleen Harms, of Muscoda, Wis., Arlene Axiotis, of Hampton, Barbara Swieter and her husband, Harvey, of Hampton, and Lois Novak and her husband, David, of Highland, Wis.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Grace Simmer; and one brother, Ross Epple.
