OSAGE MAN IS FATALLY HURT
TRAIN WRECK VICTIM TO BE INTERRED ON SATURDAY AFTERNOONOsage – Funeral services will be held at the Champion Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in charge of the Osage post of the American Legion for William Sherwin, 51, who died Wednesday morning at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, from injuries received in a train wreck.
Mr. Sherwin serviced in the Philippine war and also in the World War. He was never married.
Surviving are his brothers; Robert of Charles City; Lloyd of Floyd; Carl of Winfield, Kansas; and Frank of California, and his sisters; Mrs. Fred Towner of Floyd; Mrs. Orin Sinotte of Salix; Mrs. Mary McCutcheon of Madison, Wis.
Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.Mason City Globe Gazette, Friday September 22, 1939
