Osage – Funeral rites will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Champion funeral home for a former resident, Mrs. Carl Sherwin, 70, who died Monday at her home at Winfield, Kansas, of a malignant illness. Burial will be in the Osage cemetery. Funeral rites are to be Wednesday at Winfield.
Born Pearl Naden in 1879 at Orchard, Iowa, to Noah S. and Julia Naden, she spent her girlhood there coming with her family to Osage as a young girl.
She married to Carl Sherwin and lived here, moving later to Winfield.
She leaves her husband; a sister, Mrs. Maude Brown, Osage; and a brother, Bill Naden, Webster City, Ia.

Rachel Pearl Naden was born November 1879, the daughter of Noah Samuel Naden and Julia (Sprague) Naden. She married Carl Alfred Sherwin, the son of Dennis and Emma (Godfrey) Sherwin.
