Funeral services for Henry Brenden, of Osage, were held on Friday, April 1, 1949 at Champion’s Funeral Home with the Rev. T. P. Solem in charge. Burial was made in the Rock Creek Cemetery, rural Osage. Mr. Brenden died March 30, 1949 at the home of his sister, Mrs. E. A. Christiansen, in Osage.

Henry Brenden was born on July 26, 1881 in Green County, Wisconsin, to Halvor and Joran Haugen Brenden. He was baptized in the York Lutheran Church. The family came to Mitchell County, IA when he was nine years old. He attended the Cedar Township rural schools and the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, where he was confirmed in 1896.

In early manhood, he returned to Green County, Wisconsin. There on December 24, 1904, he was united in marriage to Miss Nettie Jeremiason. She died on December 23, 1905 in Wisconsin.

Mr. Brenden returned to Iowa shortly after her death and engaged in farming. He went to Fergus Falls, Minnesota in 1925 where he operated a poultry farm. In 1927, he suffered a light stroke, which made it necessary to sell his farm. He then went to Fargo, North Dakota, where he worked on a farm. In the summer of 1945, he became ill and became blind. In August 1945, Mr. Brenden came to Osage and lived with Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Christiansen the rest of his life.

Survivors include a brother, Chris, of Osage; three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Schoger, of Osage, Mrs. Sophie Maudal, of White Rock, South Dakota, and Mrs. Olga Christiansen, of Osage. Also surviving are ten nieces and nine nephews. His wife, his parents, three sisters, and two brothers preceded him in death.

LINGERIN GILLNESS

Funeral services for Henry Branden of Osage will beheld on Friday, April 1, at two o'clock at Champion's funeral home with the Rev. T. Solem in charge. Burial will be made in the Rock Creek cemetery

Mr. Branden died Wednesday of cerebral embolism at the home of his sister, Mrs. E.A. Christiansen, in Osage.

Henry Branden was born on July 26, 1881, to Halvor and Joran Haugen Branden in Greene County, Wisconsin. He was baptized in York Lutheran Church.
