GORDON LEE SIMPSON
OSAGE, IOWA - Gordon Lee Simpson, 75, of Osage, died Thursday (June 15, 2000) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage. Gordon was born June 3, 1925, in Austin, Minn., the son of Joseph and Erma (Fenstenmacker) Simpson. He was raised by Albert and Mary Ellen Bradwell and graduated from Otranto High School in 1943.
Gordon married Darlene Baldwin on June 3, 1953, in Austin, Minn. He lived in Floyd County, where he was a farmer and plumber. In 1977 he moved to Osage, where he worked at the Mitchell County Court House until retiring in 1992.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage, with the Rev. A.C. Wegner officiating. Inurnment will be in the Osage Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to services on Monday at the Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St. in Osage.
He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Parmenter, of Des Moines; one son, Larry Joe Simpson and his wife, Kathleen, of Kasson, Minn.; two brothers, Robert Simpson, of Austin, Minn. and Duane Simpson, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Donald Simpson.
