SELMA GEFFERT

ST. ANSGAR - Selma Geffert, 105, died Sunday (March 11, 2001) at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toeterville, with the Rev. Daniel Wee officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Toeterville.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.

Selma Sophia (Will) Geffert was born Oct. 8, 1895 to Fred and Anna (Galnick) Will in Freeborn County, Shellrock Township. She was baptized Oct. 13, 1895 near Myrtle, Minn. by the Rev. Lebahn. She attended English and Parochial schools and was confirmed in German in a class of 15 on March 15, 1910 by the Rev. Martin Vasseler.

She was married June 4, 1919 to Albert Geffert of Mitchell County, Iowa. They lived on a farm near Toeterville. Two children were born to them, Paul and Arleigh. They moved to St. Ansgar in June of 1954. Albert passed away Aug. 1, 1976. She lived alone in her home until January of 1991.

Selma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert; daughter, Paula; son, Arleigh; three sisters, Alvina Will, Elise Conrad and Ada Hartwig; four brothers, Martin Will, Herman Will, Clarence Will and Arthur Will; and one great-grandson, Nathan Geffert.

Selma is survived by seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
