Last Rites For Mrs. Sarah Ball Will Be Today
Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Ball, 74, will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at two O'clock at the First Baptist church in Osage with the Rev. Orville Mellquist officiating. Burial will be made in the Osage cemetery. Mrs. Ball died Tuesday at the home of her son, Arno, on south Sixth street in Osage.
Sarah Elizabeth Clark was born April 17, 1874 to Thomas and Jane Clark in Cedar township in Mitchell County. She spent her entire life in Mitchell county except for two years in Stoughton, Wisc. when she was caring for her sister.
She was united in marriage to Arthur Ball of Osage February 3, 1908, and four children were born to this union. She was baptized when a young woman into the First Baptist Church of Osage and remained a faithful member to the last. She was absent but two Sundays from church and Sunday school in the past four years. She was also a member of the Dorcas group of the church.
Surviving are two sons, Arno L. of Osage and Warren A. of Austin; one daughter, Mrs. Laurence (Ada) Zerck of Osage; a brother William T. Clark of Wilmington, Del.; 10 grandchildren and several neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Esther Elizabeth, in infancy; her parents, eight sisters and two brothers.
Sarah Elizabeth Clark Ball was born April 17, 1875 (not 1874) and died on December 14, 1941. Her husband, Arthur Holland Ball went out one evening and never returned.
