MRS. MOSHER,
LIFE LONG RESIDENT OF
COUNTY, DIES AT 62

Mrs. Elmer Mosher, a life-long resident of Mitchell county died Friday, Dec. 31, 1943, at her home in Riceville.

Alena May Hinchcliffe, eldest daughter of Charles and Emma (Markham) Hinchcliffe, was born June 14, 1882 on a farm near Little Cedar. With her parents and two sisters she lived there until her marriage to Elmer E. Mosher on June 20, 1900.

Mr. and Mrs. Mosher began their married life on a farm in Douglas township, later they moved to the Old Ed Mosher homestead west of Riceville, and where they resided until 1914 when they moved to Riceville to operate a garage.

Surviving are the husband and five children: Nina Bodenham of Riceville, the Rev. Charles Mosher of Storm Lake, Kenneth of Yankton, South Dakota, Glendon, serving in the army, and Maxine of Chicago. One sister, Aletha Crossman, of Riceville also survives, as well as three grandchildren: Frederick and Joan Bodenham and Kay Mosher.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, Hattie Taylor and infant son, Elmer Jay. Her character was marked by her unselfishness and devotion to her family. She was a sincere Christian in her early years, and was a member of the David Church.

In 1915 she united with the Baptist church of Riceville, where she has been a faithful and cherished member.

The services were held in the baptist church of Riceville, Monday afternoon, January 3, 1944, and was conducted by the pastor, Rev. Henry Olsen, assisted by Rev. E. Bodeham.

Burial was in Riverside cemetery, Riceville.
