FUNERAL SERVICE HELD
FOR NEW HAVEN MAN

Osage – Funeral service for Joe Eschweiler, 78, of New Haven, were held Tuesday morning, January 5, at St. Peter’s Church at New Haven.

Mr. Eschweiler had lived in the vicinity of New Haven for the past 60 years. He was unmarried and, since retiring from farming, had occupied a small residence at the edge of town.

He died at the Ed Nichols home in New Haven, where he had been cared for during the past three months.

Surviving is a nephew, Will Eschweiler and a niece, Agatha Eschweiler of Riceville, also a nephew, John Eschweiler of New Hampton.

Joe Eschweiler Dies
At New Haven,
Ill For Three Months

Joe Eschweiler, 78, died at the Ed Nichols home in New Haven Saturday, where he had been cared for during the past three months.

Mr. Eschweiler had lived in the New Haven community for about 60 years, working on various farms, until a few years ago when he retired and moved into a small residence at the edge of town. He never married.

Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews, including Agatha and Will Eschweiler of Riceville, and John Eschweiler of New Hampton.

Funeral service was held Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Peter's church, New Haven, and burial was in the cemetery near by.

Joseph Eschweiler was the son of Conrad and Clara Eschweiler and the brother of John Nicholas Eschweiler 1853-1923 who married Margaret Gerhartz 1858-1936. The children Will, Agatha, and John mentioned in Joseph’s obit are the children of his brother John.
