Last Rites for Walter Weber
Had Been in Poor Health Since 1939

Osage – Funeral services will be held at the Visitation church in Stacyville for Walter Weber, 29, under the direction of Father H. N. Manternach. Mr. Weber died Tuesday morning at a Rochester hospital. Burial will be in the Visitation cemetery at Stacyville.

Walter Weber was born February 5, 1914, at Pocahontas, the so of Mr. and Mrs. Matt B. Weber. As a baby, he came with his parents to Stacyville, where he came to Osage.

He was married on December 30, 1939, to Carmen Lang. He has been in ill health for several years.

Mr. Weber was a bookkeeper at the Midwest Lumber company at Stacyville, holding that position until the first of the year when he was unable to attend to his duties.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carmen Weber, Mitchell county relief director; one child, Judy; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Weber of Cedar Rapids; one brother Ottman, Stacyville; and four sisters; Mrs. William Green, Stacyville; Mrs. Lawrence Duenow, Austin, Minn.; Mrs. O. F. Branch, Los Angeles, Cal., and Kathleen Weber, Los Angeles.

LIFE, WALTER WEBER

Walter Weber, 29, died Wednesday morning April 14, 1943, at a Rochester, Minnesota, hospital. He had suffered from Leukemia for the past three years, and Tuesday he desired to go again to Rochester hoping for relief. he stood the trip well but death came suddenly.

Walter Weber was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt B. Weber. He was born at Pocahontas, iowa, on February 5, 1914. When he was only three weeks old his parents moved to Stacyville. There he received his education, graduating from high school and later becoming associated with the Midwest Lumber Co., at Stacyville.

On December 29, 1939, Walter married Carmen Lang. They continued to live in Stacyville until March 1942 when Mrs. Weber took a position in Osage in the Relief Office.

He is survived by his wife, a 20 months-old daughter, Judith Jean, and by his mother who lives in Cedar Rapids. His father died in 1938. Also surviving are a.... [truncated].
