Orchard – Byron Millington, 79, died at midnight Wednesday at his home near here. He had been ill of hardening of the arteries for some time and had been hospitalized at Rochester, Minn., and Mason City, Iowa. Born January 1, 1867, near Decorah, the son of Samuel and Ellen (Marlotte) Millington, he married Frances Baldwin in 1890. The couple first lived at Cresco then in Allamakee county five years, coming to Mitchell county, near Orchard in 1895. His wife died in 1918 while three sons were overseas.He leaves two daughters, Hazel, who has made her home with her father since her mother’s death; Mrs. L. B. Anderson, Osage; two sons, Harold, Dearborn, Mich.; Herbert White Bear Lake, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Alonzo Evans, Minneapolis,Minn., and Mrs. Richard Despard, Cresco; seven grand children and four great grandchildren. Preceding him also were a son, Calvin; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Humphrey and Mrs. Ben Foote, and two brothers, Samuel and Marvin. The body is at the Shelledy funeral home at Osage.

Orchard Farmer Dies; Rites will Be MondayOrchard – Funeral services for Byron Millington, 79, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Shelledy funeral home. Burial will be in the Orchard cemetery.
Mr. Millington died at his farm home near Orchard Wednesday after a long illness.Surviving are 2 daughters, Hazel, at home, and Mrs. L. R. Anderson, Osage; 2 sons, Harold of Dearborn, Mich., and Herbert of White Bear Lake, Minn., 2 brothers William of Mason City and Fred of Minneapolis and 2 sisters, Mrs. Alonzo Evans of Minneapolis and Mrs. Richard Despard, Cresco. His wife died in 1918.
