MITCHELL PAIR
ARE DEAD FROM
HARD COAL GAS

Mr. and Mrs. D. Barnard,
80 and 75, Are Found
Unconscious.

MITCHELL, Nov. 18. — Funeral services for both Mr. and Mrs. Dell Barnard, 80 and 75, who were found lying in their home here unconscious from the fumes of a hard coal heater, will be held in the community church Tuesday afternoon.
The Rev. A. M. Mitchell will be in charge.

Both of the old persons were almost dead when found by neighbors Thursday. Mrs. Barnard died on Friday and Mr. Barnard late Saturday afternoon.

Given Warning-

Friends who called on the aged couple Wednesday evening noticed the gas in the rooms and warned them of the danger. Neither were prone to accept the warning seriously, however, and did nothing about it.

When no activity was noticed about the place all Thursday forenoon, an investigation started by neighbors found both of the occupants, of the house unconscious. All efforts to revive them were unavailing. Both are pioneer residents of the community of Mitchell.

Burial will be made in the Mitchell Cemetery.
