DIES ON BIRTHDAY
LeRoy, Minnesota - Funeral services for James Vaughn were to be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Martz funeral home, with burial in the Wayne cemetery at McIntire.
He died Sunday at a hospital in Charles City on his 82nd birthday.
He was taken to the hospital the night before with a fractured hip which he suffered in a fall.
He is survived by a son and a daughter.

#2:James Vaughan, Sr., 93, died December 2, 1945, at Cedar Valley hospital in Charles City, Iowa, from injuries received Saturday when he fell on an icy walk in McIntire.
James Vaughan was born at Memphis, Tennessee, on December 2, 1852. When a small child he came with his father to Dubuque, and lived there until he was about 17 years of age, when he moved to a farm near Bailey.
May 16, 1878, he was united in marriage to Jennie R. Bettis. To this union four children were born, two preceding him in death. Mrs. Vaughan died on March 10, 1941.
He had been a continuous resident of Wayne township and Mitchell county for 76 years.
He is survived by a son, James T. Vaughan, of McIntire, and one daughter, Mrs. W. J. Bartle, of Mitchell.
Funeal services were held at the Martz Funeral Home in LeRoy, Minnesota, Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. Bodenham of Riceville officiating. Burial was in the Wayne cemetery at McIntire.

He was survived by his daughter Elizabeth Loretta (Vaughn) Bartle and his son James T. Bartle Jr.
