RITES AT ST. ANSGAR FOR RETIRED FARMER
St. Ansgar---Funeral services were held Friday afternoon for Robert Bartz, 69 who died Tuesday afternoon at St. Olaf hospital, Austin, Minn., where he was taken Friday after he had suffered a stroke.
Robert Julius Albert Bartz, son of August and Albertina (Bruss) Bartz, was born March 21, 1882, in Mitchell county. He spent his youth in the Rock Creek neighborhood.
On October 29, 1907, he was married to Emma Beyer. They lived for the first 12 years on the old Bartz homestead north of the Rock Creek church, then moved to a farm northeast of St. Ansgar where they lived until Mr. Bartz suffered a stroke in 1943 when they moved to St. Ansgar.
Mr. Bartz is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Rosaline Wilson and Mrs. Evelyn Overton both of Austin, Minn., 3 sisters Mrs. Antonio Schroeder and Emma and Urika Bartz all of St. Ansgar, and 4 grandchildren.
Burial was in the city cemetery, the Rev. . C. Walters in charge.
