AGED RESIDENT OF TOWN DEAD
RITES PLANNED FOR MRS. BERNDT, 88, AT ST. ANSGAR ON FRIDAY
St. Ansgar---Mrs. Dorothea Berndt, 88, died Tuesday afternoon of a lingering illness at the home of her daughter Mrs. Albert Bartz, where she had made her home since 1904.
Born in Hanover, Germany, September 10, 1852, she came to America at the age of 14 years, and lived at Reedsburg, Wis., for two years. The remainder of her life was spent in the Toeterville vicinity and St. Ansgar.
Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Albert C. Bartz, St. Ansgar.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church, the Rev. Paul Brammer in charge. Burial will be at St. Ansgar.

note* Wife of William Berndt 1842-1904 and daughter of Heinrich and Catharina Dutte.
Her mothers maiden name according to the 1925 Iowa census was Schuelenburg.
