Funeral services for Miss Ella S. Hansen, 92, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center April 18, 1972, were held April 20 at the First Lutheran church here with the Rev. Don Comnick officiating.
Ella Sophia Hansen was born June 8, 1879 in Otranto township, Mitchell county, the daughter of Halvor and Anne (Thompson) Hansen. She attended the Oak Lane rural school of Otranto township. Ella resided with her parents on the family farm until they moved to Austin, Minn. in 1922. She lived there with her parents until their death in 1929, and then moved back to the farm and lived there with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Thompson. In 1949 she moved to St. Ansgar to live with her brother, Mr. H.B. Hansen.
She had made her home at the Good Samaritan Center here since July of 1966.
Miss Hansen is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Thompson of Lyle and Mrs. Bertha Sherman of Wibaux, Mont.; several great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Burial was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona with Rev. Comnick in charge of the committal services.
