Funeral services for Mrs. Blanche Hansen, 89, who died at the Good Samaritan Center here February 7, 1973, were held February 10 at the First Lutheran church with the Rev. S. Engelstad officiating.
Mrs. Hansen was born January 15, 1884, the daughter of Colburn and Gunvor Hanson, on the old Rust homestead north of St. Ansgar. She attended the rural Clyde school and was confirmed by the Rev. Johan Olsen in First Lutheran church in June 1899. In the fall of 1899 whe entered the Clyde Seminary and graduated from a normal school course in the class of 1901.
On June 10, 1908 she was married to Hans K. Hansen by the Rev. M.E. Waldeland. Four children were born to this union. Mrs. Hansen was a lifetime member of First Lutheran church and has been an active member of its various organizations most of her life.
After the death of her husband October 7, 1943, shortly after their 35th wedding anniversary, Mrs. Hansen maintained her home in St. Ansgar until January 1970 at which time she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center here.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. F.W. (Gyda) Reisner of Bethesda, Md. and Mrs. Beulah Fletcher of Rochester, Minn.; one son, Major General Homer K. Hansen of Dayton, Ohio; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Hanson, St. Ansgar; several cousins, two nephews and a host of friends.
Mrs. Hansen was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Mrs. Loaine Mulligan. Burial was in First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Engelstad in charge of the committal serices.
