Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie G. Halverson, 86, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center October 5, 1973, were held October 8 at the First Lutheran church with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating.
Lizzie G. Johnson Halverson was born in Northwood July 31, 1887, the daughter of Gustav and Gina (Flatness) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1910 she was married to Sever E. Halverson, and they made their home in and around Carpenter until moving to near Ray, N.D. for two years.
Mrs. Halverson was a long time member of First Lutheran church here, and of the ALCW.
Surviving Mrs. Halverson are two daughters; Mrs. Stanley (Gladys) Nelson of Northwood; Mrs. Joseph (Dorothy) Stoll of Forest City; two sons, Stanford of Minneapolis, Minn. and Gerald E. of St. Ansgar; one foster son, LaVerne R. Michaels of St. Ansgar; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; also surviving is one brother, Arthur Knaak of Long Beach, Calif.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Sever, in 1946, and one brother, Fernie Knaak.
Burial was in First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Engelstad in charge of the committal services.
