FUNERAL HELD FOR GERALD McCLAIN, 65

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage for Gerald McClain, 65, who died April 12, (1966) at Mitchell County Memorial hospital. He was admitted to the hospital the previous Sunday. Mr. McClain had been a resident at the Mitchell county home since his health began to fail, about five years. The Rev. Wesley Anderson, pastor of the Baptist church was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Osage cemetery.

Gerald (Mickie) McClain was born March 24, 1901, near Little Cedar, the son of Samuel and Nellie Parrish McClain. He attended the Little Cedar area schools, and as an adult became a truck driver. Prior to his retirement he was clerk at the Cleveland hotel.

He was married to Laura Sprague, who preceded him in death several years ago. Also preceding him in death were his parents, and a half-brother, Clayton McClain.

He is survived by his step-mother, Mrs. Melvina McClain of Aberdeen, S.D., a half-brother, Samuel McClain of Ellendale, N.D. and several cousins.
