Private family services will be held for Germaine Ann Michels, age 65, following cremation under the direction of The Paul Mortuary. Internment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meyer, Iowa. Germaine died on March 21, 2003 at Monterey Pines Skilled Nursing Facility, Monterey, Calif.

A native of Meyer, Iowa Germaine was born August 8, 1937 and had made her home in Pacific Grove and Marina, Calif. for the past 25 years, coming from San Francisco.

Ms. Michels was employed as a lab technician at Lawrence Livermore Labs for 25 years. She was an active volunteer with Handicapables while living in San Francisco, enjoyed sketching, painting and was a music lover.

Her survivors include her brothers Leo Michels of Des Moines and Bob Michels of Sauk Centre, MN; her sisters Joan Hemann of Osage, Iowa, Ann Marsolek of Lakewood, Colorado; Rose Bock of Des Moines, Iowa; Jean Brandt of Northfield, Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews.

The Paul Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Contributions are suggested to the Carmelite Monastery, 27601 Highway 1, Carmel, CA 93923.

A Memorial Mass for Germaine Ann Michels, age 65, formerly of Meyer will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer. Rev. Mark Reasoner will officiate and inurnment will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meyer. Germaine died March 21, 2003 at Monterey Pines Skilled Nursing Facility in Monterey, Calif.
