Sharon K. Ziegler age 59 was called by her Lord to her eternal rest on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Sharon made her earthly appearance on August 7, 1945 to a joyous and happy couple of Elmore and Evona (Pattyn) Sandberg in Moline, Illinois. She was baptized into the Body of Christ in August 1945 in Rock Island, Illinois, and she later confirmed her faith in West Salem, Wisconsin in January 1960.

Sharon graduated from High School in Robbinsdale, Minnesota in 1963. She continued her education by attending Fairview Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis and graduated as an RN in 1966. She worked at Northwestern Hospital as an RF from 1966-1972.

She married Donald Ziegler of Green Isle on June 19, 1971 at Victory Lutheran in Minneapolis. She farmed with Don in Green Isle Township. Here is where Sharon joined Don in membership at St. Paul's Lutheran in Green Isle. While a member of St. Paul's, Sharon lived her Christian faith in serving her Lord both in church and community. Sharon was a very creative Sunday School teacher with the use of Bible Bingo along with other creative ideas. And prior to her illness, she initiated a Compassion program for visitation of shut-ins, which involved selection of and training of personnel. She wanted to meet the needs of people. Sharon then worked for Glenco Hospital for year before working at Waconia Hospital as an ER from 1972-1979. Later she because the Unit Manager at Gardenview Nursing Home in LeSueur from 1992-1998. Sharon also worked as the firm's secretary during and after holding these nursing positions.

Sharon was also a member of the Green Isle American Legion Auxiliary, a 4-H leader where she received a national award for her community pride project titled "My Health for Better Living" to encourage people to heat hearty & healthy foods. She enjoyed baking, cooking crafts, gardening, flowers, photography and collected cookie cutters and knick knacks.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws, Hugo & Lorna Ziegler.

She is survived by her Husband, Donald of Green Isle; Sons, Brent (Sarah) of Green Isle, Scott (Doreen) of Hutchingson and Jeffery of Green Isle; Grandson, Matthew Ziegler; Brother, Dennis (Sue) Sandberg of Maple Lake; Sisters-in-law, Eldrene (Ruben) Ebert of Gaylord, Diane (Rick) Nelson of Alexandria and Mavis (Fred) Flemig of Waconia; Uncles & Aunts, Leona (Mauice) Kleckner of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Irene (Ken) Michaels of Osage, Iowa, Mary Vrell of Milan, Illinois, Helen Evans of Cloguet, Ann Fredrickson of Minneapolis, Kenneth Sandberg of Coon Rapids, Leroy Sandberg of Georgia, Elmer Ziegler of Geen Isle and Regina Olson of Cokato; 6 nieces and 5 nephews; 9 great nieces and great nephews.

Note: Sharon lived at St. Ansgar on the corner of N. Summer and 4th Streets from about 1948 through the spring or summer of 1956.
