Evona Mary (Pattyn) Sandberg
October 1, 1921 – May 23, 2002
Evona Mary Sandberg, age 80 of Robbinsdale died May 23, 2002 of colon cancer.
Memorial Services were held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, une 8, 2002 at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel. Interment was at Glen Haven Cemetery, Crystal, Minnesota.
Evona was born October 1, 1921 in Mitchell Township, Iowa to Rene and Martha Pattyn. On May 28, 1943 she married Elmore Sandberg. She was a member of Elk River Eagles AERIE # 3264 Ladies Auxiliary and of Victory Lutheran Church, Minneapolis. Evona loved planning gatherings for her family and friends. She enoyed baking, gardening, traveling, crocheting, going to casino’s, and working with her husband making small woood working projects for charitable programs.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Sandberg and his wife Sue; daughter Sharon Ziegler and her husband Don; grandchildren, Todd and Cher Sandberg, Brent Ziegler and his wife Sarah, Scott and eff Ziegler; sisters, Mary Vrell, Leona Kleckner and Irene Nichels; in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Her husband Elmore preceded her in death on April 29, 1997.

Note: The Sandbergs lived in St. Ansgar from about 1948 until spring or summer of 1956. The lived on the corner of 4th and N Summer St.
