Elmore A. Sandberg

Elmore Andrew Sandberg, age 82 of Robbinsdale, Minnesota died April 29, 1997 of Colon cancer.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 3, 1997 at Victory Lutheran Church, Minneapolis. Interment followed at Glen Haven Cemetery, Crystal, Minnesota. Arrangements were by Gearty-Delmore Funeral Home, Robbinsdale. Memorials were preferred to North Memorial Hospice Program.

Elmore was born December 21, 1914 to Svea and Andrew Sandberg in Moline, Illinois. On May 28, 1943 he married Evona Pattyn. He was a tool and die maker by trade; a member of Elk River Eagles Aerie #3264 FOE and Victory Lutheran Church, Minneapolis. Elmore ejoyed bowling and traveling; was an avid reader and an excellent wood worker.

He is survived by his wife, Evona; son, Dennis Sandberg and his wife, Sue; daughter Sharon Ziegler and her husband Don; grandchildren, Todd and Cher Sandberg, Brent, Scott and Jeff Ziegler; sisters, Helen Evans and Ann Fredickson and her husband Jim; brothers, LeRoy and Kenneth Sandberg.

Note: The Sandbergs lived in St. Ansgar from about 1948 until the spring or summer of 1956, during which time Elmore was employed at Oliver Corporation in Charles City. They lived on the corner of N. Summer and 4th St.
