ELVERUM, ANDERSON, HEBERG, NIELSEN, JORDAN

Andrew Elverum, son of Christopher Elverum and Mary Anderson, was born at St. Ansgar, Iowa, on September 9th, 1875, and baptized on October 17th of the same year. He was confirmed at St. Ansgar, October 5th, 1890. Mr. Elverum spent a good part of his childhood at the home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. T.A. Elverum of Kensett. He attended the St. Ansgar Seminary for some length of time after his confirmation. He was married on the 20th of March, 1897, his bride being Miss Alberthine Heberg of Kensett, Iowa. This union was blessed with four children, Mrs. Winnie Nielsen, Clarence Elverum, Waterloo, Iowa, Lewis Elverum, Grafton, Iowa; and Victor Elverum, Grafton, Iowa.

Mr. Elverum has lived with his family on the farm where he died for the last 22 years. His death took place on the home farm on Tuesday, February 23rd, 1926. At the time of his death he was fifty years, five months and fourteen days of age.

Mr. Elverum is survived by his wife, his four children, one grandchild, Vernon Neal Nielsen, age 2, one brother, Seaver Elverum of Sorum, South Dakota, a brother, Melvin Elverum, of Lyle, Minnesota, a sister, Mrs. George Anderson, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and a second sister, Mrs. Harry Jordan, of Lyle, Minnesota.

The funeral took place at St. Ansgar, Iowa, on Friday, February 26, Rev. M.E. Waldeland officiating, and interment took place at the Evergreen Lutheran Cemetery north of St. Ansgar.

Present at the funeral from away were the following; Miss Agens Heiberg of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mr. George Anderson of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Anna Bentrude of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jordan of Lyle, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Elverum of Lyle, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Erickson of Osage, Iowa.

We wish to extend our thanks to the many kind friends and neighbors for their aid and sympathy in our sad bereavement; also for the beautiful floral offerings from St. Ansgar Camp No. 2449 Modern Woodmen of America, Alma Lodge No. 13 of Lyle, Minn., Heredom Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Northwood, Iowa; Town of Carpenter and community friends.
