Immanuel Lutheran
Funeral services for Wilmer C. Erdman, 70, of Grafton, who died March 4, 1984, at a hospital in Weslaco, Texas, were held March 8 at Immanuel Lutheran Church here with the Reverend Norman E. Betke officiating.
Wilmer Carl Ernest Erdmann was born April 3, 1913 in Newburg Township, Mitchell county, Iowa, the son of Emil and Edwina (Marcks) Erdman. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Township by the Reverend G. A. Bischoff May 4, 1913. He attended country school in Newburg Township.
In 1926 his parents became members of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Mr. Erdman was instructed by the Reverend. Paul Brammer and became a communicant member of the congregation April 1, 1928. He worked with his father on the family farm.
November 17, 1935 he married Doris Rosel at Immanuel Lutheran Church. One daughter was born to them. The Erdman family farmed southwest of St. Ansgar for 43 years, and upon their retirement, moved to Grafton in 1975. They spent their winters in Texas, and it was there that he became ill.
Mr. Erdman was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Doris; daughter and son-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas (Joan) Watts and two grandchildren, Kimberly and Chad of Northwood.
Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery with Reverend Betke in charge of the committal service.

3. His funeral service folder gave his birth date as April 3, 1913. It also listed his casket bearers as: Roger Frank, Russell Horgen, Richard Rosenberg, Allan Kroneman, Lowell Kroneman and Roger Hanson.
