THE OBITUARY OF EMILIE F. F. ERDMAN

Emilie Florentina Frederika Erdman (nee Genz) was born Janurary 3, 1848, at Gross Besz, Pomerania, Germany, and was baptized and confirmed at this place.

May 22, 1868, she was married to Mr. Carl Erdman. In 1877 the family came to this county, settling on a farm in Newburg Township.

Seven children were born to them, one of whom, a daughter of 18 years died in 1887. In the fall of 1900 they retired from the farm making their home here at St. Ansgar. Mr. Erdman died in 1814.

The deceased enjoyed good health all of her life till about a year ago when she began to fail. And in the days of illness, as in the days of health, the Word of God was her rod and her staff. Having been confined to her bed for only three days, she was called home last Thursday morning at half past 8 o’clock.

She attained the age of 77 years, 4 months and 25 days.

She is survived by two sons, four daughters, fifteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and three brothers and four sisters in Germany.

Funeral services were held last Monday with services at Immanuel’s Lutheran Church and cemetery, Reverend Paul Brammer officiating.

--- CARD OF THANKS ---
We wish to express our sincere thanks to the many kind friends and neighbors for their aid and sympathy during the illness and after the death of our beloved mother.
