Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Dahl, 77, were held Tuesday, August 13 at the First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar with the Rev. Obert Hoven officiating.
Ida Halvorson Dahl was born to Andrew and Lucinda Halvorson on January 26th, 1886, at the Halvorson Homestead south of St. Ansgar, IA. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar by the Rev. John Olson. She remained all her life at St. Ansgar with the exception of fourteen years in North Dakota and was a faithful member of the First Lutheran Church.
She attended school in Newburg Township and was united in marriage with Carl Irving Dahl on March 5, 1908. They lived in LaMoure County, North Dakota. Five children were born to this union; Alma Hazel who died at the age of six months, Clarice Leona, DeLois Irma, Everett Lawrence, and a daughter who died in infancy.
She is survived by her husband, Carl, two daughters, Mrs. Harold Cawelti, (Clarice), Lyle, Minn., Mrs. DeLois Heil, Chicago, Ill., and a son, Everett of Springdale, Ark,; two sisters, Lorene Spender, Boonton, N.J., Clara Halvorson, St. Ansgar and two brothers, Elmer Halvorson of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Irving Halvorson, St. Ansgar, Iowa.
Burial was in the First Lutheran Church Cemetery, St. Ansgar. Pallbearers were Alvin Johnson, Ronald Dahl, Avery Halvorson, Alton Halvorson and Lloyd Kroneman, and Selmer Johnson.
