Funeral services for Mrs. Maria L. Dahl, 78, who died at the Good Samaritan Home in Mason City Thursday, June 1, were held at the First Lutheran church, Monday, June 5 with the Rev. Don Hamilton officiating.
Maria Louise Halvorson was born June 9, 1882 on the Halvorson Homestead, the daughter of Andrew Halvorson and Anna Lucinda (Helegeson) Halvorson. She made her home at the Good Samaritan Home since 1953. Before this she lived with in a few miles of St. Ansgar since childhood.
On September 6, 1911 she was united in marriage with Iver A. Dahl.
She leaves to mourn her passing, a daughter, Mrs. Derald (Corine) Cowell of St. Ansgar; four grandchildren; three sisters, Clara Halvorson and Ida Dahl of St. Ansgar, Lorene Spender of Boonton, New Jersey and two brothers, Irvin Halvorson of St. Ansgar and Elmer Halvorson of Lawton, Oklahoma; also several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Iver and an infant son Harley, also five brothers and one sister.
Burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery with Rev. Hamilton in charge of the committal service.
